Topic: Projection

Hello! Good Sunday morning! Our topic for today: PROJECTION.

According to Sigmund Freud, projection is a psychological defense mechanism whereby one "projects" one's own undesirable thoughts, motivations, desires, and feelings onto someone else.

Other common definitions include:
  • "Projection is the opposite defense mechanism to identification. We project our own unpleasant feelings onto someone else and blame them for having thoughts that we really have."
  • "A defense mechanism in which the individual attributes to other people impulses and traits that he himself has but cannot accept. It is especially likely to occur when the person lacks insight into his own impulses and traits."
  • "Attributing one's own undesirable traits to other people or agencies."
  • "The individual perceives in others the motive he denies having himself. Thus the cheat is sure that everyone else is dishonest."
  • "People attribute their own undesirable traits onto others."
  • "An individual who possesses malicious characteristics, but who is unwilling to perceive himself as an antagonist, convinces himself that his opponent feels and would act the same way.

Straight from the UK!

In the building where I work (dating Rustan's Superstore sa Araneta Center, Cubao), there are small establishments along its perimeter. One of them is a surplus store (aka Ukay Ukay) which I found during my lunch break. Siguro out of curiousity, pumasok ako sa loob at nakitingin ako. I was amazed at the amount of STUFF they had in there ... everything from clothes and toys to books and electronics!

For sure galing ang mga ito sa military base kasi maraming combat boots, camouflage uniforms, and other US military issue. It was interesting looking at all the old toys there, many of them in working condition. Feeling ko may super power ako sa paghanap ng sweet deal. I was able to find a pair of unused suede loafers for P 750 and an unused tee shirt for P 75. Not bad di ba?

Going to a surplus store is like going to a museum ... every item there tells a story. Parang na pi-picture ko yung mga may ari ng kung anu-ano. Ayan, lumalabas ang pagka-voyeur ko (pati yung pagka-kuripot ko)... ;)

In any case, I make it a point to drop in every so often, since it is so close to the office. Who knows what I might find for a few bucks? Abangan!

Can't Wait to See Ya!

I so love the Social_Eyes totem pole/grid! Thanks to Jimjim! Good job!

It's TGIF again tomorrow... meaning ONLY 2 more nights before we see each other again! Yay!

By the way, the Nasugbu trip is cancelled BUT... the "pajama party" @Ed's will push through on Saturday night, @9:30PM. Remember, this is again a potluck thingy so bring anything apt for breakfast galore e.g. pancake mix and maple syrup, hash browns, freshly-squeezed OJ (totyal!) or what-have-you! I'm so excited!

Can't wait to see ya, guys! Hugs! ;-)

P.S. Guys, please don't ask me what POTLUCK means, ok? Hahaha! ;-)

i wonder kung kaninong number ito na sinulat sa upuan ng bus na nasakyan ko... most likely, the one who wrote this number is a foe of the number's owner...

the fuel!

theres a song that always keeps me going. it works like a fuel for me. i love to listen to that song because it always makes me feel happy and it gives me a good vibe. i cant help but to dance and sing with it. i have it in my phone and i always listen to it whenever im going to work or anywhere. i like the lyrics of the song. its sort of an "inspirational song" and i even made the chorus the description of my blog. it was also used as a theme song of a shampoo commercial. lol
.
"feel the rain on your skin, no one else can feel it for you,
only you can let it in, no one else!
no one else can speak the words on your lips,
drench yourself in words unspoken, live your life with arms wide open,
to the years where your book begins,
the rest is still unwritten!"
-unwritten (natasha bedingfield)
.
the song gives me so much energy, the strenght and the hope for good things to come. and just like the song, there are people in my life who works like a fuel for me. they are the one who helps me to get to the right direction whenever im lost, they are always on my side, and im so thankful to have them in my life. these people are the reason why i am happy. i feel accepted, being taken cared and loved by these guys. simply the best!

Bado...Bado...Badosaur!

Finally, a group blog site. Were we could freely express our feelings and opinions with little or no limitations.

Speaking of friends, I really love the company of my BM Socialeyes family. I could remember the first time I saw them. It was December 2007. It was also the first time I saw My lifetime partner (Baby bear Steve). They were so accommodating. In a few hours I felt I was really part of the group. Ever since that day, I am always looking forward to spend my week ends with them. It doesn't matter if I would loose sleep. I owe them allot, specially Dave and Cholo, Jim and Vic.

Once more, I am happy to have friends like you.

My first post in SocialEyes

WOW!!!
yun lang ang masasabi ko. I've been waiting for this. This is another way of how we can express our thoughts and ideas on our friendship. Another way of how we can make it... THE STRONGEST.
I'd like to start my first entry by re-introducing myself to you guys... for those who know me.. in and out.. this might just be a refresher... and for those who want to know me better... and with that I mean deeper friendship... here it goes.
Hi I'm Divino Oscar Lopez Granados (ahhh, walang takot... name dropping), most of you guys call me Dave. Only my mom and sis calls me Divino. My baby calls me Bam. Im 30 years old and the youngest in the family. I work in Convergys and have no plans of leaving.
To friends... I can be the friendliest but can be extremely bad to those who's bad to me. I love being with friends especially with this group because I know that aside from friendship... they treat me and Bam as one of their own... with that I mean... a family.
To Bam (my baby)... I am a partner, brother, father, a mentor and the closest friend that I can be to him.
In life... I believe in a few things and one of them is making life as simple as possible and I super hate complication. Live life and love to the fullest as this day may be your last day and may never express how you truly feel about your closest.
With all that being said... Quoting Jim Neville.... I am SIGNING ON.

First Day in Product Training

The client at work was finally revealed to us today ... it's Australia's biggest telecom company. Sorry, but I can't say what it is until there's an official announcement. Since this is its first overseas venture, it has taken them longer than expected to get things going. We'll be doing product training for four (4) weeks! Grabeh, that's longer than I've ever experienced, pero ok lang ... bago kasi sila. That's the Aussie trainer John in the photo. Mabuti na lang officer na ako at may internet access ako dito sa likod ng class. Sayang walang flash ang PC ko... makaka YM sana ako.

The class members introduced themselves to each other na. May mga veterans, may mga newbies (as in fresh out of school), and may mga career shifters. Interesting mix of people. Excited na ako mag QA... :D

i'm in!

this is jimnev signing on!!

in SEX... the MORE the MERRIER

A couple of weeks ago, the group decided to have a potluck dinner at Dave's house. Unfortunately, rain poured that night that i thought it will be difficult for us to enjoy the night. We arrive safely at his place and rested for a moment while waiting for Dave. Luckily, Bam is there to accommodate us. We chatted and browsed while simultaneously watching Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs until our eyes were white because of hunger. Good thing Vic and Jim brought a pizza from S & R which we ate until rice is ready with Edwards 'ulam' (I can't recall if it's caldereta or something else). Dave arrived and we decided to go to a gimik area near the place.

We drank a lot to a point that we're the only group left at the place. Tipsy together with chilling air brought about by the rain earlier, we decided to hit it off.

WE HAD SEX. Literally.

I even heard Dave, Bam and Abbu had threesome. Want some proof?

At the end, we all had fun that Vic can't even hide his feelings.

I hope we can have sex together as often as we want.

Job Heaven

I started at Stellar, an Australian call center last May 12th. The office is in the old Rustan's Superstore, beside Shopwise and Ali Mall. Most call centers make it a point to have really nice offices, and this is no exception. I really love it there kasi free ang parking para sa bike ko, tapos ang luwag luwag ng work environment (the production area occupies only a fourth of the building). Ang pinakamagandang "perk" is the fact that this a brand new firm, so there's no office politics as of yet. But the best thing about my job (besides being daytime with weekends off) is the nature of the job ... back end for a major Australian telecoms firm. Ibig sabihin NO customer contact since we process or "provision" orders. Ang tagal ko pinagisipan whether I should accept the job dahil mas mababa ang sweldo (dahil walang night diff). I said what the heck, change is inevitable so why not embrace it? Wish me luck, guys ... product training starts this week ... here's hoping na kaya ko yung job. Optimistic naman ako. Stay tuned for updates. :)

Thank God for Blogging!

Yay! I'm so glad our group's into blogging na! This week has been good, and it's gonna get even better once I see you guys this weekend! Counting the hours... :-)

Great job, Jimjim!

To Rica Bebe! Hope you had a blast! Here's one for you...

Anything Goes

Hey people ... feel free to post anything here ... announcements, chizmiz, rants, raves, raket ... kahit gawin nyong chatroom, okay lang! :) I realize that many of us have our own personal BLOGS, but I hope you take time to let the rest us know what's on your mind ... kahit nagpaparamdam lang, we'd love to hear from you! :D

Look How Far We've Come

When I think about how different we are in terms of preferences, background, personality, and even age, I'm amazed how well we all get along. It was a long road for some of us, and an instant bond for others. No matter how we came together, the most important thing is that we did.

For the longest time, okay na sa akin ang best friend lang. Being with this wild and crazy bunch showed me how much sweeter and fun it is to have best FRIENDS.
