In the building where I work (dating Rustan's Superstore sa Araneta Center, Cubao), there are small establishments along its perimeter. One of them is a surplus store (aka Ukay Ukay) which I found during my lunch break. Siguro out of curiousity, pumasok ako sa loob at nakitingin ako. I was amazed at the amount of STUFF they had in there ... everything from clothes and toys to books and electronics!
For sure galing ang mga ito sa military base kasi maraming combat boots, camouflage uniforms, and other US military issue. It was interesting looking at all the old toys there, many of them in working condition. Feeling ko may super power ako sa paghanap ng sweet deal. I was able to find a pair of unused suede loafers for P 750 and an unused tee shirt for P 75. Not bad di ba?
Going to a surplus store is like going to a museum ... every item there tells a story. Parang na pi-picture ko yung mga may ari ng kung anu-ano. Ayan, lumalabas ang pagka-voyeur ko (pati yung pagka-kuripot ko)... ;)
In any case, I make it a point to drop in every so often, since it is so close to the office. Who knows what I might find for a few bucks? Abangan!

@jimnev: The place is along the road facing the Marikina Shoe Expo. I think it's called MSM US Surplus. In any case, it won't be hard to find because you definitely won't miss it.
UY I LIKE THAT!!! lalo na nung na-mention mo yung toys! dun sa bayan ng nova ang dami ding UK-UK dun at ang daming toys, may nabili nga akong plastic sword ni Frodo na tumutunog pa 75php lang!tas mga cute na maliliit na stuffed toys na baboy at bear bumili din ako, sobrang kuripot ko 50php na nga lang ay tinatawaran ko pa! hihihihi! Minsan naman nakabili ako ng Levis 501 for 150php! at kurek ka, minsan naiisip ko din kung sino nga kaya ang may-ari ng mga gamit na ito at bakit kaya nila dinispatsa? di kaya patay na? wag naman sana at nakakatakot!
Actually, lagi ko yang na dadaanan pag pauuwi ako sa las piñas or uuwi ako sa marikina.. matagal na tong UK-UK na to...Pero hnd ko na try pasukin.:D Tra minsan puntahan ntin..:D
